We invite you to join our webinars focused on Integrating Land Tenure Into Restoration Initiatives, which we are co-organizing with the FAO. Landesa, International Land Coalition, UN-Habitat Global Land Tool Network, TMG Think Tank, and the UNCCD.
These webinars aim to raise awareness of the value of tenure security and its contribution to biodiversity conservation, sustainable land management, ecosystem restoration, and climate change mitigation and adaptation, while improving food security and local livelihoods.
Recent decisions of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) encourage Parties to integrate the principles and practices contained in the Voluntary Guidelines on the Governance of Tenure (VGGT) into the design and implementation of Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) and other land restoration initiatives. By recognizing and enforcing legitimate tenure rights, land restoration policies, projects and programs can be more efficient and effective in responding to the interconnected land, biodiversity and climate crises.
The webinars will take place from 15-17 May, 2023 and will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation as indicated below.
