Land issues, namely control of land, ownership of land, and land use, are at the heart of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This guide aims to explain procedures used by Israeli authorities to increase their control, and provide the legal tools needed to understand Israeli land-related policies in Area C of the West Bank.

In the concluding legal analysis, the guide specifies tools under international law pertaining to the protection of land, housing and property rights in occupation contexts.

This guide is intended for local and international lawyers, policy makers, researchers and other practitioners in the field of housing, land and property in the West Bank. It has been published by the Norwegian Refugee Council, with support from UK Aid and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
